Featured Event... THE NEBRASKA COUNTRY MUSIC FOUNDATION will need Karaoke singers to sing at the Adams County Fair July 24. Mikes Music will be set up under the tree on stage from 5:30-8:00 PM. Country or Gospel song. Sign up 5:30 PM,. 1st & 2nd place go on to the NCMF Finals Sept 20. Karaoke provided by Darren Forbes / Krokin' Karaoke. THE DOWN HOME COUNTRY FUNDRAISER HELD JUNE 14 at Spring Ranch was enjoyed by 43 members, family, guests & friends. Karaoke sound provided by Darren Forbes & Josh Stromer and several singers provided the entertainment. There was a Spring Ranch tour with tour guide Mick Shaw. Thank you to everyone that provided pie / cake for the cake walk. There were 8 players that registered for the pool tournament and Mick Shaw was 1st place with Dennis Jenssen 2nd. Thank you to Jim Lucas for organizing the tournament. A silent auction was held for some nice prizes being purchased by Chris Nielsen, Dave Babcock, and Deb Shaw. Kids and adults enjoyed the Duck Pond game with nice prizes awarded. Guests from as far as Lincoln, Dixie Karnes and her granddaughter Ashley, enjoyed this country fundraiser. Lots of great food, fun and relaxation was enjoyed. The winner of the Prime Rib was Jennifer Edmisten...CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you to my family Larry, Larcy & Mick for all your hard work & dedication to make this event successful! from 4 contestants. Thank you to Darren Forbes / Krokin Karaoke for providing
the karaoke sound for the event. Ron & Leota Griess are great supporters of the
NCMF providing the prizes for 1st & 2nd place of $100 and $50. CONGRATULATIONS TO RON GRIMES OF CENTRAL CITY! Ron Grimes has written a new song titled "Peace of Mind" and it will be presented on a CD that will be played on www.nashvillebroadcastingnetwork.com and then click on Radio Show. It will be availiable to hear June 30 12:00 Central time. His song is the last song on the program. If you miss the opportunity to listen to his new song, it will be on Charlie Ray's website www.charlieraymusic.com and click on Charlie Ray's Song Lovers Show. It will be available on his website for 1 year. We regret to be informed that Lorie Bell has resigned from the
NCMF Board of Directors Vice President. We wish her the best! The Vice President
seat has been filled by Ron Grimes and the position as Board of Director was
filled with Deb Baumann for the remainder of this 2009 term. A MEMBERSHIP DRIVE WAS HELD MAY 2 at Sutton American Legion. There was members, family & friends attend the event with a baked good auction with Lonnie Stripe, auctioneer doing a great job bringing in funds for the October festival expenses. Thank you to Darren Forbes / Krokin' Karaoke for providing the sound for open mic karaoke. We all had a great time, and enjoyed several talented karaoke singers! For more information of where tournaments are held every week, and special events please visit their website www.themwpa.com The Nebraska Country Music Foundation Board of Directors held their January meeting and decided the Festival 2009 theme to be "Rockin' COUNTRY Style" and the colors for the festival will be Red & Black. THE 2009 FESTIVAL WILL INCLUDE THE "GOLDEN OLDIE COUNTRY SONG OF THE YEAR" AWARD AGAIN. WE HOPE SEVERAL PERFORMERS COMPETE IN THIS CATEGORY AGAIN! Beginning with the 2009 festival, the membership dues for 2010 will increase to $25 / year, and stage fee during the festival will be $15.00 per person. The Hall of Fame members receive a lifetime membership to NCMF, but are required to pay stage fee, and banquet tickets. THE NCMF BOARD have made the following changes in Fundraiser / Karaoke competitions effective immediately. NCMF members will not pay a stage fee for Karaoke competitions. All non-members competiting will pay $10. If they purchase a 2009 membership the stage fee will be waived. Memberships are $20 / year. MEMBERSHIPS 2009 If you did not renew your membership at the Festival, and would like to be a 2009 member, please request a form by calling me at 402-726-2140 or email me at debrashaw@windstream.net with your request. Memberships are due at the Festival each year and the cost is $20 / year. You do not need to be a performer, songwriter or musician to be a member. The Nebraska Country Music Foundation is a Non-Profit Orginazation that Promots The Growth of Country Music in Nebraska. To receive an Election Ballot, you must be a current member. Ballots will be mailed by October 31. To receive newsletters and information throughout the year, and be a member in good standing, please get your dues sent to Deb Shaw, President NCMF, 30550 Birch Rd, Glenvil NE 68941.
